Plant Science

Is a degree program that deals with the art and science of breeding, propagating, installing and maintaining plants that are used to enhance and improve the human environment. This program is offered collaboratively by several departments at UF designed for students with different professional objectives.

 Students gain a comprehensive knowledge of plant biology, from cells and molecules to evolution and the environment. This interdisciplinary degree allows graduates to pursue a wide variety of job opportunities in areas of: Greenhouse & Landscape Industries, Soil Management & Plant Productivity, Plant Breeding & Genetics, Native Plant Conservation, Plant Health & Protection, Sustainable Crop Production and Turfgrass Science.
