It's fundraiser time again and the UF-Milton Student Club and other donors have made several varieties of plants available for the student club to sell. Profits from the sale provide scholarships to UF-Milton students.


Earth Day

April 19, 2008 In Pensacola

May spring begin! What better way to celebrate new growth than to celebrate our Mother Earth!! Earth day is April 22 and quickly approaching. Students, staff, and faculty will be educating the surrounding community about the University of Florida's classes & research that are aimed at bettering the earth. A planning meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 27 at 3:00 in the big conference hall in 4900

Internship Night - flyer

Are WFREC students gaining real world experience? Are they engaged in world wide issues? Can they solve problems? The answer is YES. On Wednesday night following the Thanksgiving holday UF-Milton Students will present their experiences (internships, independent studies, and field trips/international trips) and problem solving skills on the Pensacola Junior College Campus in Milton. Dinner is hosted by the UF-Milton Student Club and is served in room 4902. Supervisors, sponsors, co-workers, and advisors are invited to attend.

 

Trip to the Mothership - flyer

December 6

On the first day of reading days in December we travel to the “Mothership”. This is a full, action-packed event that is very popular because of the diversity of activities. This is not a horticulture trip, this is a great day for both programs to visit Gainesville and experience the main campus feel. Below is an example schedule: 

5:00 a.m. CST- Depart Milton Campus

6:30 a.m. CST- Breakfast stop (near Tallahassee)

11:00 a.m. EST- Poinsettia Field Day Gainesville Campus (meet Gainesville faculty and see 120 different cultivars of poinsettias- plants for sale too!)

1:00 p.m. EST- Lunch Reitz Student Union Food Court and Bookstore

2:00 p.m. EST- Meet with CALS Student Services and IFAS Public Relations (basketball court, football stadium, tower, chapel, alumni center, historic buildings)

3:30 p.m. EST- Tour the Butterfly Museum and visit gift shop.

4:00 p.m. EST- Depart Gainesville Campus for 8 p.m. arrival in Milton (dinner in Tallahassee)
