Plant and Wildlife Community Ecology

Current Research Issues

Barrier Island Restoration, Barrier Island Dynamics, Dune Restoration, Beachmouse Landscape Use, Fire and Restoration Ecology, Indicators of Ecological Change, Native Plant Restoration and Invasive Species Management.

Real World Solutions

Prescribed burning as habitat management for wildlife, developing techniques for native plant restoration in areas with invasive species, and using indicators to identify effects of natural and man-made disturbances.

Wildlife Partnerships

Impacts of silviculture on groundcover vegetation on Ft. Benning, Georgia; fire for restoration of longleaf pine and scrub communities at Naval Live Oaks; dune restoration on Eglin AFB and Gulf Islands National Seashore; and impacts of dune fragmentation on beach mouse at Eglin AFB, Florida.
