Academic Programs Overview
Since 1995, Students have had an opportunity to earn a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida (UF) in Natural Resource Conservation, Landscape and Nursery Horticulture or Golf and Sports Turf Management without relocating to Gainesville. Resident faculty offer on-site classes including real life laboratory experiences in natural areas of northwest Florida and provide direct interaction with local, regional, and national business and agency leaders. Natural Resource Conservation
Be part of the stewardship of our natural ecosystems. Our students explore the broad-based field of natural resource conservation which ranges from ecology and management of forest, wetlands, beaches, grasslands, wildlife and trees to social policy and economic aspects of conservation.
Landscape and Nursery Horticulture
Population growth in Florida is accompanied by increased demands in nursery production and an increase in the need for landscape installation and management. Interdisciplinary Programs in Landscape and Nursery Horticulture deal with all aspects of the horticulture industry from landscape and nursery business management to nursery crop production and landscape management are available through the Environmental Horticulture Department.- Program Homepage

Golf and Sports Turf Management

Distance Education
Through distance education, students can take courses to earn certificates, obtain degrees, gain personal enrichment, or seek professional development. Enrolling in a distance education course gives a student the flexibility to complete courses while maintaining other responsibilities like a full time job or a family.
Distance education courses are offered in a variety of formats including, Web based, DVD, interactive videoconferencing, and video tapes. Applicants must meet UF's general admission requirements as well as those specified by the individual degree program.
Distance education faculty are recognized as leaders in their fields of study. Like any university setting, students interact with faculty and staff through their regional Research and Education Center. Degree-seeking distance students have the full rights and privileges offered to students who attend classes on the Gainesville campus.
